Xeth's beginning to a whole lot of trouble...

Xeth was a rather quiet young man, shuffling into the small suburb of a town, not nervously, but more with a small sense of wonder. He didn't care for the city so close to reach, the cities were almost all the same with they bland environments and suited workers and people yelling on their phones, it was chaos there and none of it natural. He was captivated by the pokemon that ran about in the suburb, the monkey-like pokemon and bird pokemon moving about within the trees, the few strays that ran about chasing each other, even a Munchlax poking in the garbage for something edible. He'd adjust his glasses back to the bridge of his nose, to get a better look and relieve the weight off the tip. He smiled at the Munchlax finding a bit of candy and immediately popping it into his mouth, wrapper and all. But the flash of his glasses startled and pissed off some spearrow, causing them to dive at him. He waved them off with a laugh at first, but when one caught his face, he yelped a little and some people came to help corral the spearrow away, to which he thanked the townsfolk for their help, rubbing the back of his head and blushing in embarrassment. The townsfolk only sort of laughed at his embarassment, one of the larger men patting him (very hard for that matter ) on the back, causing him to nearly lose his glasses...

But those sights made him stop and smile at the small things, he always liked how curious and easily adaptable that pokemon were. But if he wanted to see them in their true environments, or even get close to seeing some rare and unruly pokemon, he couldn't stay in the urban lifestyle anymore. Told many a time by people he had ran errands for, Xeth decided to make his way to Popilu Town and see to the lab where he could recieve his first pokemon companion, and begin his own personal quest, away from the lifestyle and ordeals and problems his family thought they could place down on him. His smile disappeared immediately just thinking about it, and his face seemed to go completely blank. He hated how much they were trying to control his fate, and as fate would decree, he would be free of the torment until he felt better about himself. He made his way to the lab, his glasses beginning to slide off his nose as he was too busy contemplating to himself if his choice was really right, but when greeted with smiles and handshakes, the smile returned and he greeted kindly back.

This was no longer his family's time, it was his time, his turn to shine and make something of himself...

OOC: The first paragraph in this update is bleh

You had arrived in the place where all Pokemon journeys in dregga began, Popilu town. The town which was usually a quiet suburb of the much larger and much more dangerous Popilu city had been shaken up by the arrival of a young man who wore glasses. The Glasses however had caused some problems with the spearow who rarely visited this monkey town.

This young man had been helped by one of Popilu's citizens and continued on his way making it to the lab safely. You knocked on the door and saw a beautiful young lady with a warm smile on her face.


"Hello there, I'm professor Juniper come on in." She said as she lead you to a table where 3 Pokeballs stood. "I'm pretty sure this is why you're here correct? Well here are your starter pokemon choices." She said as she kept that same warm smile on her face before releasing the three pokemon from their pokeballs. The three pokemon now standing before you were.

Xeth scratched the tip of his nose at the ease of this opportunity. He looked between his choices, eyeing them carefully in hopes of seeing one that called to him. However, neither the Chimchar nor the Snover really seemed to catch his interest, but the Gible didn't seem like a good choice either. He sighed, looking between each of the pokeballs and then Prof. Juniper, who smiled back at him when she noticed he was hesitating, causing him to blush slightly and look away immediately. He pushed up his glasses and closed his eyes. He put out a hand and reached for which ever pokeball he extended his arm to, not really knowing which one he was grabbing. He clasped one in his hand and brought it to his eyes.

"I choose this one!"

He released the ball, seeing the arc of red electricity beaming out from the pokeball, and out landed a docile Gible. Xeth opened an eye and looked downward at his choice, seeing the Gible. His face blanked for a moment, questioning if this was really the right choice to have made. However, the Gible turned around to face him, and she smiled with a big toothy grin. At that moment, Xeth felt his partially random decision was made, and he would suffice with the Gible.


"I'll name you Toothless, for the sake of irony..."

He patted her on the head, and she cooed for one moment and then munched down on his hand. Luckily, for one, her teeth were too far apart to do any serious damage, and two, he had to deal with bitey pokemon before, and wasn't surprised by its reaction. Although, most bitey pokemon let go after they realized the person wasn't afraid. Toothless, however, did not loosen on her grip nor tighten. Xeth tried to pull his and away gently, but to no luck, she held on, and even pulled back a little like it was a game.

The professor smiled at the scene between you and your new found partner toothless the gible. She then turned and went to the back room when two more males entered the room each standing next to one of the remaining Pokemon.

The professor then returned with a starter kit which contained your pokedex and 5 pokeballs. She then turned to the other 2 trainers as they both chose the pokemon that they were standing next to.

"Please proceed to the Breeding centre where the workers will give each of you a pokemon egg." She stated still smiling the entire time. She then gave the two boys their pokedex before going by one of the machines near the back room and typing in something.

You now had your first Pokemon and now had an opportunity to claim your very own Pokemon egg. what would you do?

Xeth nodded to Prof. Juniper and only sort of glanced to the other two people who came in and received their pokemon. He did not know how they were nor what they would want from him, but it seemed they were going about their own terms as well. However, out of sheer respect, he introduced himself.

"My name is Xeth Rison, of the Rison Entrepreneurs. I don't normally introduce the family name, but I thought it would make a good conversation topic to start off with..."

Xeth rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment, he was never good at small talk, nor did he know how they would react when they discovered he was of a rather rich family. Most of the time people took the notion negatively, but he did not know about these strangers. Toothless stood beside him and simply blinked at the two of them, possibly thinking how they would taste. Maybe better than her owner?

The First boy turned to you with a smirk on his face. "Hello there." He said in a somewhat devious voice. "I'm Melvin nice to meet you." He said before taking his snover and leaving. The other Guy stared at you almost as if he was examining you.

"I'm Carter." he said as he took his chimchar and left as well. It would seem both trainers were acting fairly weird. Your gible then began pulling you outside. It seemed like even the gible was telling you it was time to begin your journey.

Xeth felt a bit perturbed by how quick and uninterested the other two boys were, but he didn't take it to heart. They had their own plans, and so be it. Gible pulled on Xeth's pants, wanting to follow the other trainers. Xeth smiled and reached to rub Gible's head again, but stopped before it could touch. He knew better now...

He walked twoards the Breeding Center, following a bit far behind the other trainers of whom he had met earlier. There was no reason to rush ahead, he would make it there to recieve his egg whenever he got there. Toothless hopped along side him, Its little legs and pudgy body making it seem more like a waddle than a hop. Still, it kept up just fine.

Xeth and Toothless walked into the Breeding Center, the automatic doors closing behind them, and the two trainers that were met before in front of him, Melvin the only one taking the time to look over for a moment. The Breeding Center was noisy, with the wails of baby pokemon and the calls of breeders requesting one another for assistance in some way. However, the front desk clerk seemed all too calm and happy, as though it were simply another day in the Breeding Center.

Both of the boys had received their eggs and were having what seemed to be a very interesting argument. One of the workers in the breeding centre turned to you and smiled. He went to the back of the room and took what felt like an eternity even if it was only five minutes.

Once he returned he bowed to you showing respect. "Welcome Xeth, I have this Pokemon egg for you. Care for it as you would care for your own child." The man bowed once more after handing over the egg and returned to the back room.

You took a quick peek out of the window to see that only one of the boys was left, It was the one who seemed to have an attitude. The one who took the snover, It was Melvin. He still had a smug grin on his face and glared inside the centre at you as if telling you to get out here right this instant.

What would you do now?

Xeth did not like the look that Melvin gave him. It seemed too devious and cocky, as though he knew he was going to win something that Xeth did not know he was even apart of. Even so, the only exit that he could go through without causing too much trouble was behind Melvin, and thus, the encounter would be inevitable. Carrying the egg at hand and with Toothless at his side, He wasn't exactly confident when he approached Melvin, though he was really trying to go passed the man, but his look almost made him stop completely. He slowed, looking at him above his glasses, question what Melvin's intentions were. Xeth did not want a fight, nor did he wish to battle against each other's pokemon. He'd rather it be a safe pass by, but it would seem the opposite would come before him.

"Well, Xeth." Melvin said as he began walking back and forth. He was holding his pokeball in his hand and his smirk looked as devious as ever.

"I Hope you're ready to battle, because I am not talking no as an answer!" Melvin said as he threw the pokeall he held in his hand and his snover emerged.

"That coward fled saying he only does contest battles. I'm going to prove to the world I'm the greatest trainer to have ever lived!" Melvin said as his Pokemon stood in frnot of you waiting for your gible to take the battling pose.

"I'll even give you the first move." He said smugly.

Xeth sighed, he knew this would inevitable. A battle hungry trainer like this one, there was no escaping the challenge. If he could, he'd probably run away, but with people gathering around them, now was not the time to be a sissy.

"Toothless," Xeth said, and Toothless came forward, waddling up towards the Snover but did not seem at all disturbed by the incident. Xeth pushed up his glasses with one last sigh, and without hesitation, called out his command, "Sand attack, now!"

Toothless obeyed with quick response, scooping up the dirt before her with a slight tip of the side and threw it at Snover's face. The spread of dust, dirt, and sand flew into the air and towards Snover at the speed at which dirt could be thrown. Hopefully, it would blind the Snover, if not cause a bit of hesitation in its moves...

"Alright Snover hit it with Powder snow!" Melvin commanded as the gible quickly used sand attack which lowered the accuracy of the snover which ended up firing the powder snow in the wrong direction.

"You got lucky this turn but not now Powder snow again go now!" Melvin said as his snover once again got ready to attack.

The first attack missed, that was good, which allowed Gible to have a slight advantage, but with a quick attack back, it was less likely that the attack would miss a second time in a row on its own. He had to get in close, Melvin was using Snover's ranged attacks to his advantage. Gible hadn't learned very much just yet, so range against range wasn't an option.

"Toothless, Tackle it! Before it can attack again!"

Toothless charged forward, yelling out as it attempted to ram down the Snover with its body.

(so short, didn't really have much to say lol)

Gible began charging towards the snover only to be blasted by the powerful powder snow. A super effective attack. Gible being both a Dragon and a ground type couldn't with stand the blast and was sent flying back to your feet defeated by that one icy blast.

"Hahaha!" Melvin laughed. "Pathetic, snover lets leave this loser alone." He said as both he and his victorious ice type partner began walking out towards Popilu city.

You however had a bigger problem. Your starter pokemon had been knocked out and severely hurt from that one attack. It would seem that your luck was beginning to go south. Would you head back to the lab or would you check inside the breeding centre to see if they could help you out?
