Hello.
Here's my next suggestion: Allowing players to customize their profile. Currently, you are entirely in control of our profile. You've made changes to its format, and I do not like it at all: all caps are gone, making the grammar look far worse, the font is harder to read and stuff... I am not liking it, but seeing how I can't modify it makes me feel like you do not have any trust in your players.
So this suggestion is to allow us to modify our Profile. Make it look like however we want to, as long as we keep all the information. That could mean that one could choose to delete its content. For this, you can simply add a rule in which deleting or changing the main content of a Profile means the removal of membership (one wouldn't be able to RolePlay anymore until the profile is back to normal). Also, to prevent cheating, you can simply place the Game information (Pokemons and Inventory) in a post of your own, so that the player can't modify it. Also, deleting other non-used posts, to make it look better and more professionnal. We don't need to see the talk we had before the profile was accepted.
Profile customization could allow the player to add information we would like to have, such as the Timeline of our journey (list of threads), a Pokedex (as long as it doesn't take too much space), a list of acquaintances, friends and foes... Even a personality description of their pokemons. Also, if our character has a change of personality or look (due to a significant event), we'll also be able to change it ourselves.

Well the thing about it is once a profile is locked the only people who can edit posts is the mod itself. I have however thought of a way to fix the little conversations that we have before the accepted.
I will also give folks a choice between the new profile and the old one for when they are joining up

That isn't a problem if you change it. Unless proboards is a really bad host, it should be possible to allow one to modify his own posts without being able to post a new thread. And if you really can't, just unlock it! Place more trust into your members!

Even before becoming a mod/admin I had the ability to modify my posts otherwise it wouldn't have been possible for people to start making a character one night then come back to it in the morning (for example). So it's not a question of whether we're allowing someone to make modifications to their profile.
I would say we can divide the application process into two posts. The first being all the member information. Birth-date, town, favourite pokemon type etc. All stuff that they can modify themselves. The second post would be system-related details that we ask them not to touch. A member who breaks this rule continuously will have their right to modify and personalize their character revoked for a period of time.
It seems fair to me as long as people don't go overboard when performing their modifications.

Well from what Hane said, That is technically a 'Plot Page/ PC / Thread Tracker' rather than editing the character itself. The app can have the no caps code removed if you want I can just edit that code out of it, it isn't hard tbh. The new app format was brought in because it looked nicer than the older one aswell as being alot kinder on stretching the site. Also font size can be changed from 1 to 2 anyway. So that can be changed. The staff could themselves post the pokemon template and items to prevent it being edited but I think the 'thought process' at the time was that it was easier just to have it all in once post. I believe if a player wanted to edit their character they could just ask a member of staff to just move it into pending and then for it to be looked over again to make sure all is good before being placed back into accepted.

But that'd give you a whooooole lot more work. You wouldn't want to do that everytime I finish a thread, everytime I get a new pokemon, everytime I learn a new move... I want to keep track of my threads, I want to give some role-play information about my pokemons, I want to keep track of the codes I give to my moves...
Also, having a second post doesn't make stuff more complicated. Normally, the first post should be Role-play only: the part the player creates and the GM does not modify at all, while the second post is all game-related, so pokemons and their stats, inventory and such. The Game Masters shouldn't even have to touch the first part, so you still only have one Post to edit.

So in other words your saying that you want to change your character's personality/history after every single event? Also staff sorts the catching of the pokemon and tracking threads, as I said that is called a 'Thread tracker'. Adding Info about pokemon, thats a 'PC', saving codes for your moves can just be a thread like I have for my posting templates. Ill speak to uran about getting a section for thread tacker / pc's sorted anyway.

Oh and in responce to the 'second post bit' I was only saying that I thought that the 'thought process' going through urans mind at the time was to make it easier on him at the time. I cannot see what he was thinking so I dont know xD

Okay... at first I wasn't paying attention to this thread.. Just figured people wanted to make their own special profiles in their own way.
After having done my first update, I found I could barely read Haneroze's profile.. But I just figured that is how that particular person wanted their profile. Then I went looking in my profile and found that it isn't how I submitted it.
I put time into my profile. Bolding, coloring, font, size, capitals, grammar, etc. It is disheartening to find that I put effort to make my profile look 'pretty' and the embodiment of my character, and it was erased and replaced. I can't read my profile. I dislike how it looks.. and I can't even nickname my pokemon. I can't update the money I have earned.. I can't do anything.
I think you should have a thread for people asking for permission to change something such as their Pokedollars in their profile, then a mod/adm open it and make sure that is all they change. If you have issues with these profiles being unlocked all the time.
I just want my profile back to the basic template format. I can't read it.. and I personally think it is ugly.

Sounds easy enough to accommodate mods and members need to decide what the members want to be able to customise and what the moderation team wants to keep in their control. Once we get that done I think it'll be easier to negotiate. If that is the problem.
